Most of the Seaport's winter season opens on Friday, November 6. The Snowport Holiday Market, the new Snow Ballers skating rink at Pier 4 and the free iceless curling lanes on Harbor Way all start that day. They don't close together. The market ends December 27, the rink December 31, the pop-up village at The Current January 31, and the curling lanes stay open until February 28, 2027.
For anyone who lives within walking distance, the closing dates shape the season more than the opening date does. The weeks before Christmas are the busiest stretch, but they're only part of it. After that, the season scales down a piece at a time, and some of the best weeks for neighbors come after most of the holiday crowd has gone home.
Three Opening Dates, Five Closing Dates
This is the sixth season for Snowport, and the 2026 version takes the same basic shape as last year's. Boston 25 News reported on October 14 that the market, presented by Visa, will be back at 100 Seaport Boulevard with more than 130 independent businesses, including 17 local food and beverage vendors. WS Development's own market page puts the count at 125 or more, so "more than 125" is the safe figure. Last year the market ran November 7 to December 28, at the same address.
What changed is everything around the market. The table below lists the pieces with a set run.
| Attraction | Location | Opens | Closes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fireside at The Current | Just outside the market | September 24 | January 31 |
| Snowport Holiday Market | 100 Seaport Blvd. | November 6 | December 27 |
| Snow Ballers rink | 25 Pier 4 Blvd. | November 6 | December 31 |
| Snowport curling lanes | 111 Harbor Way | November 6 | February 28, 2027 |
| Snowport Tree Market | 99 Autumn Lane | November 20 | December 24 |
Fireside at The Current is already open. Organizers describe it as an après-ski–inspired pop-up village, and its nine brands are Elli Parr, For Now x Maker Scholar, Morandi, MYKA, NOBULL, Sweetish Fish, Tiny Chaos, Union Square Donuts and WNTR by Bobbles & Lace. It opened six weeks before the market and closes five weeks after it. That makes it the longest-running retail piece of the season.
The Market Runs on Two Weekday Schedules
The market's weekday hours change partway through, and that matters more to neighbors than to anyone else. From November 6 through December 6, it's open Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Starting December 7, weekday opening moves up to 11 a.m., and closing stays at 8 p.m.
Weekend hours are the same for the whole run:
- Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
For the first month, the market opens on weekdays when most of the workday is over, so the 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. block lines up with the walk home. After December 7, weekday mornings and middays are open too. Those are the hours that are easiest to reach for anyone who lives a few blocks away.
General admission is free. The weekend Fast Pass is back, letting visitors reserve an arrival time through the Seaport Insider app. It costs $15 for adults and $7 for veterans and children 6 to 17, and children 5 and under get in free. The Fast Pass is only for weekends, and the weekday hours open up in December. Taken together, that means weekday visits in December are the easiest way to see the market. The market is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day and closes at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Inside, Tuscan Kitchen runs four themed bars: The Jingle Bar, The Dizzy Dreidel, Betty's Bar, named for Snowport's yeti mascot, and The Blizzard Bar, where artificial snow falls whatever the forecast. A heated Warming Tent from the Bermuda Tourism Authority has beer garden–style seating. Mohegan Music Mondays features Berklee-connected Boston performers at 5 p.m. Boston 25 reports more live music Tuesday through Thursday. The Monday lineup:
- Triinity Lee, November 9
- Hanna Lauren, November 16
- Kassidy Collins, November 23
- Elise Roche, November 30
- Keeme Tajudeen, December 7
- Sofia Sunshine, December 14
- Mia McIntosh, December 21
The New Rink at Pier 4 Doesn't Depend on the Weather
The biggest new addition this year is a few minutes' walk from the market. Snow Ballers is the winter version of Ballers Seaport at 25 Pier 4 Boulevard. When Ballers opened, its five outdoor pickleball courts and three outdoor padel courts brought outdoor racquet sports to the Seaport for the first time. For the winter, it's adding an outdoor skating rink with private igloos, firepits, s'mores, hot chocolate and seasonal food and drinks. The operator calls it the only outdoor skating destination in the Seaport.
The rink is made of Glice, a synthetic panel surface, not frozen water. Warm days don't affect it, but only hockey skates are allowed. Rentals are included with every session, and skating costs $20 an hour for adults and $15 for children under 12. The rink is open Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from noon to 9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. On weekends it opens an hour before the market. Through December 6, its weekday hours are the same as the market's.
Discounted parking at the 111 Harbor Way Garage is $12 with Ballers validation, for up to three hours. It applies after 4 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends. Walk-ins are welcome at the igloos, and reservations open soon.
The rink closes December 31, four days after the market. That leaves a short stretch at the end of the year when it's open and the market isn't.
The Dated Nights Fall Inside the Busiest Weeks
All of the season's one-time events happen between Thanksgiving and New Year's, when the market is also at its busiest:
- Snowport Tree Market, run with Lambert's at 99 Autumn Lane, opens November 20 and runs through December 24. It's open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. except Thanksgiving, with a Coca-Cola photo spot and weekend sampling.
- Light Up Seaport, presented by Constant Contact, is Friday, December 4, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Seaport Common, 85 Northern Ave., with holiday music and an appearance by Betty the Yeti.
- Menorah Lighting with Chabad of Downtown Boston is Thursday, December 10, at 4:30 p.m. at One Seaport, 60 Seaport Blvd.
- Seaport Holiday Stroll is Saturday, December 12, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. It starts at the Snowport gondola on Harbor Way and includes neighborhood shopping, music, giveaways and a photo booth.
Of these, the tree market matters most for neighbors. It opens later than the other big attractions and closes earlier than any of them, so it's open for just over a month. Lambert's will sell trees within walking distance for the five weeks people buy them.
After December 27, the Season Belongs to the Neighborhood
When the market closes, the Seaport still has several winter attractions open.
The Snowport curling lanes at 111 Harbor Way are free. Each reservation gets a 30-minute lane for up to eight people, and the lanes run until February 28, 2027. They stay open two months after the market, which makes them the last attraction of the season to close. Fireside at The Current stays open through January 31. Betty the Yeti will also make CeleBETTY appearances at The Superette Courtyard, 131 Seaport Blvd., from noon to 3 p.m. on select dates in December, January and February. Betty's Blizzard Bluff, a display of lit evergreens, is coming back to the courtyard.
Between the market closing and the curling lanes ending, Boston Harbor Now's NYE Waterfront Ice Sculpture Stroll puts large-scale ice sculptures at several waterfront sites on New Year's Eve.
By the end of January, the curling lanes on Harbor Way and Betty's afternoon visits to The Superette are all that's left. In February, a group of up to eight can still book a free 30-minute lane at 111 Harbor Way, the same address as the garage that validates parking for the rink in December.
At The David Green Group, we follow what opens and closes on the Seaport waterfront as closely as we follow its buildings, because both shape daily life there. If you're thinking about how a Seaport address fits the way you want to spend your winters, we're glad to talk it through.
