What You Should Know About Rising Mortgage Rates

After steadily falling over the winter, mortgage rates have started to rise in recent weeks. According to the MBA, [mortgage applications](https://www.mba.org/news-and-research/newsroom/news/2023/02/22/mortgage-applications-decrease-in-latest-mba-weekly-survey) declined by 13.3% in just one week, so it appears the rise in mortgage rates is leading some potential [homebuyers](https://www.simplifyingthemarket.com/2023/02/23/how-to-make-your-dream-of-homeownership-a-reality/?a=713258-9a8342bcf821027012880bf1d7cccbf7) to pull back on their search for a new home.
